The bathroom and sauna at the home of Cariitti’s sales director Antti Bragge experienced recently an extensive renovation which gave the premises a fresh and modern look. Of course, the transformation was made by Cariitti sauna furniture and lights. In this 2-part blog Antti reveals how the renovation was made.
A problem was discovered in the bathroom of the newly built house
”We bought the house in 2010, two years after its building had started. After living there only a short time we noticed some problems in the tiling of the bathroom.”
Due to the tiling problems Antti decided to carry out a major renovation of the bathroom and sauna premises. Although the sauna premises were not old, their appearance was a bit shabby and required some freshness. The renovation also offered a good chance for Antti to get Cariitti TAIVE benches to his own sauna. The planning began from lights, however.
”We discussed what kind of atmosphere we want and what is a suitable light amount. We found suitable lighting solutions in Cariitti’s selection.”
The lighting solutions focused on creating the right kind of atmosphere. Cariitti Sauna Linear LED lights in the sauna are a perfect match with TAIVE sauna benches. There are ready made mounting places for these lights behind the benches.
”On the wall we chose illuminated thermometer and hygrometer, color matt white. On the ceiling above the heater we installed a stove fiber which gives light to the heater.”
The illumination offers both practicality and luxury
In the bathroom there are Huuhto Easy lights which are available in warm and cold white light temperatures. Huuhto light profile was installed also in the niche of the wall.
”Earlier we had a problem where to keep our soap and shampoo bottles. Therefore we decided to build a long niche along the whole wall of the shower side. Even better, it gave us a chance to make a nice and even lighting in the niche. We also wanted to have some luxury in the bathroom, so we installed a crystal starlight sky in the ceiling.”
In addition to the niche Huuhto Easy profile was installed also in the edge of the ceiling of the same wall. Huuhto Easy light is also available as a tailor-made product, so it adopts well to various spaces.
