In March, Cariitti TAIVE benches were featured in the section of a popular Finnish interior design program, which renovated the bathroom and sauna facilities and hallway.
The apartment is from the ’80s and was originally designed by an architect for himself. The interior designer who designed the renovation, explains why TAIVE benches were his choice for this site and what the residents thought about their new sauna.
The TAIVE collection was an obvious choice
To start with, the bath facilities were not those that the residents would have liked or planned. They said the facilities lacked clarity and colors had been splashed here and there. Residents wished for a simpler look and a certain spa spirit.
The sauna was at the point of disintegration and benches came off, which made it even dangerous for the family’s children. The residents summed up that nothing pleases them in the premises. However, they did not give a direct description of what they wanted from the new bathroom and sauna, so the interior designer had to read between the lines. For him, the sauna collection of Cariitti was an obvious choice for the site.
“I think TAIVE benches were the only real choice for this home designed by the architect for himself. They fit perfectly, thanks to their design and atmosphere. I knew at the very beginning that I wanted the TAIVE collection for this destination,” the designer says.
Owners satisfied with the new sauna
The end result has a spa spirit that the residents wanted. The bathroom has glass walls and a black and white colour scheme, but there is a glimmer of red. The complex of course includes a sauna with the benches of the TAIVE collection, as well as ceiling and wall panels.
“I have never seen such a great sauna anywhere,” says the owner of the apartment when he first saw the renovated space.
The interior designer says that he enjoyed the design of the site. He was particularly pleased with the architecture, residents and space of the house. Residents required a big change in relatively tight spaces, there were challenges on a suitable scale and the residents were really happy with the TAIVE benches.
“They liked their tone, atmosphere, design, elegance, safety and cleanliness. So, everything!”
The interior designer believes that the best things of the TAIVE collection are design and removable benches for easy cleaning. He says that they gave the sauna facilities a whole new atmosphere.
